Lani, Yours is an interesting perspective.

: : After the cannon fell silent and peace descended upon
: : the battlefields of the War Between the States,

: I don't know, it seems to me that both of these folks are fighting the wrong battle---and that out of ignorance. (what??)

: Max Freedom Long was initiated into a nameless religion by his Kumu and Kahuna Dr. William Tufts Brigham. Some call the tribal parctices of Hawaii, Ho`mana, some, Kahunaism, and whatever. It was almost dead at that point.

: When Max emigrated to the mainland, he needed a name for his religious teachings which were a RIP-OFF OF Hawaiian "tribal pagan religion" (A MOST TRENDY ANTHROPOLOGICAL TERM), and New Thought (i.e. IMAGINATION).

: Max decided on the name Huna, a proper noun in English from the common noun, "huna" in some of the Polynesian dialects.(CULTURAL THEFT)

: So, there is no such thing as a native "Hawaiian Huna" (YES THERE IS. IT WAS, IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE, ITS JUST TOO BAD THAT THOSE WITH ACCESS TO PUBLISHERS HAD AN ACTIVE HAND IN ADULTERATING IT). There is only Huna, the religious teachings of Max Freedom Long and the other kupuna on the Huna Movement.(MORE TRENDY SPIRITUAL-SPEAK--AND HOW ARE YOU EVEN QUALIFIED TO SAY THAT? )

: No Hawaiian native should be calling whatever he believes in as "Huna", there never was a Huna religion in Hawaii, it is the property of Max Freedom Long, and his descendents.(STOLEN PROPERTY IS NOT THE RIGHT OF THE THIEF)

: So, they seem to me to be fighting the wrong battle.(AND ONE WONDERS WHY US POLYNESIANS GET TESTY????)

: Aloha,

: Lani (REALLY? WHICH PART OF THE LEWA WHERE YOU NAMED FOR?)
