ALoha,

No, that didn't come out right.

Just because someone lies about me, is not a warrant for me to castigate them.

HRI certification as a Huna Teacher is based on merit, there are no "honorary" degrees that I know of from them.

It certifies that the person's understanding of Huna has been examined by the HRI and found to be admirable.

I am so certified, ask Kenn Carr.

HOWEVER, lack of such certification does not mean that that person's understandings wouldn't be certtified if examined. Hence, lack of HRI certification, such as I have, eh Kenn?, implies nothing at all concerning the other person's qualifications. Assuming that KC is not certified, if so, would not mean that he he is unqualified, only that the HRI has never examined his understandings and certified them. It might well be that if they did, he would also be certified.

As far as I know, HRI certification as a Huna Teacher, such as I have?, why yes, thank you, is granted because of competence in Huna, as far as I know.

When the IRS took over adminestrative control of the HRI, the IRS (Federal Government's Internal Revenue Service, which grants Tax Exemption), they ordered Otha Wingo to return all Teacher's Certificates, they felt that Huna was becoming a religion and the US Government wanted to suppress it.

Otha sent letters to all the Cetified Huna Teachers, explaining the situation and asking for the certificates back.

I immediately told Otha that if he or the HRI BOD took exception to any presentation of Huna I made, that I would immediately send the Certificate back. But if it was just the IRS's decision, then I would keep it, and I asked him to please tell the IRS that I wanted them to challenge the Certification in a court of law. That I was prepared to prove to a court that Huna was a religion, and that it was *my* religion.

Otha responded to me that he only admired my Hunas, and that it was a decision by the IRS and affected ALL certified Huna Teachers.

Otha NEVER asked for the Certificate back.

I wonder if that's what KC was hinting at?

If I was decertified, then I don't know it, and Otha NEVER told me that. And it would have applied to EVERYONE!

I tolf him that I would send him back my Certificate upon a request of his part, and a statement on why. Now I would require a copy of HRI's BOD as to the decertification. Although so far this hasn't happened. And Vince Wingo has my e-mail addy, as well as it being on each post here.

Of course, Vince might decide that it is political and NOT based on competence.

In other words, the only time "decertification" came into any conversation between me and Otha was when the IRS took over HRI and that applied to ALL Certified Teachers.

I told Otha that I would be glad to send it back, if he desired it on compentency of Huna grounds, or I wanted to fight the IRS in court and prove to them that Huna was a religion.

Dr. E. Otha Wingo, President of the HRI, ascented to that position on my part.

Is that what KC was talking about? It's odd he would make reference to that as HRI has previously not wanted to talk about that part of its history. Yet, since KC brought up the subject, what can I do but respond?

Aloha,

Lani
