: I was named Ho'anoIwahinenuiho'aLani by Laura Kealoha Yardley, as well as receiving
a naming
chant. You got a problem with that? You talk to her about it.
So my whole name means: He who is devoted (dies in the service) of the goddess of she
who sets
fire to the sky, ie the goddess of the full moon, the firewalk goddess.
Aloha,
Lani
IS THIS GODDESS WHO ALIGHTS THE SKY, WHO ALSO GUARDS THE FULL
MOON
IN HER REALM FOR WHOM YOU PLEDGE YOUR LIFE FOR, A GODDESS THAT
WE
HAVE HEARD OF,
Oh, I forgot. We in the Huna religion are the decendents of the Firewalking Kahunas who
didn’t find any native Hawaiians with e hoailono aku upon them, so initiated and adopted
Kahuna William Tufts Brigham. When they died, I suppose that the chants died with them,
although still alive in us.
Anyway, in only the first of the four chants of the Firewalk, we have:
“Ke wahine-nui-ho’alani!”
So the goddess is one not known to YOU but very well known to your ancestors!
It was specukated by Max that she was called that because the light of the full moon is
cold. But he never met her. I have. And Max was still alive and he and I discussed the
matter many times.
IF SHE IS AN ANCESTOR OF OURS, HOW DO
YOU KNOW THAT YOU AND I WERE BOTH SENT TO THESE CHATBOARDS
FOR THE
PURPOSE OF THESE CONVERSATIONS?
Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
IF SHE IS AGAIN ONE OF "YOURS", THEN
HOW DO I KNOW THAT THIS MESSAGE OF EXTINCTION FOR US?
Yes, I can understand your worries.
But how does it serve you to attack Huna, a deffernt religion than yours, but related to it?
It is NOT my purpose here to annoy you nor to contradict you.
But I’m sure these things have happened.
There are MANY people in Hawaii that say they teach “Huna” but don’t. They teach what
they think is Hawaiian, but it isn’t that either.
Go after them. They aren’t really Huna, and they aren’t Ho’omana either.
No. My intent here is to try to make it very clear what Huna actually is, and contrast it
with Ho’omana (your practices). So that we can live in peace.
I’m sure that is you go over all my posts here that you will find out things about Huna that
you didn’t know before. Yet I am very aware of the anti-white sentiment by some in
Hawaii.
My overasll intent here is to kala all the halas and hihias that stand between us.
Therefore I apologize for any hurts I or my Kumu have given you.
It IS our intention to have our own religion, Huna, and not still give up our genelogical
lineage.
If I have done or said anything that that has offended you, it was never my intent to harm
you, only defend my Faith: Huna.
I ask you to kala me (which would have reprocutions in your life). or you can huli kua me
(also with a different set of ramafactions in your life).
Ultimately the Huna religion is related to but different from the native Hawaiian practices
of H’omana.
Aloha,
Lani
