After scrolling through all the messages, i must make some comments. First of all let's quit judgeing Serge King. He has a great gift of orationa and has helped thousands to get out of their brains and into there spiritualness. Those who resinate with the contents go futher to study their hearts desire. I thank Akua for his wonderful efforts and love of this work. He is not the only teacher so if the shoe does not fit, don't wear it. and don't call him a name to compensate for your feelings. The one point that seem to be missing in all of these discussions is the main word that all Hawaiians treasure and that is ALOHA. In the kahuna language it means the breath of God. You can learn alot from teacher, books, practicioners, friends, but the real teacher comes from within in connection to the land. The islands speak to you. they each have gifts beyond description. If you truely enjoy Huna, come to the island and begin the in depth study that the island gives. Kumus (teachers) will come only to help assimulate what you have expereinced. If you cannot hear nature than the teachers like Serge King, Haleakala Lew and the others can help you develope how to listen, but ...the real work is yours from within. If you were to study with master teacher Papa Henry your lesson for the day may be to go sit on a rock and listen to nature, observe nature, talk with nature and don't come off the rock until you do...
Lua cannot be learned uless you are in a halau. It is an oral tradition that will not be put into print as it cannot. Huna may mean "hidden" in the dictionary but it refers to the etheric plain of the unseen. To touch Hawaiian sprituality, you better be someone who loves prayer, prays and prays. an not rote memory prayers but from your heart, for the love and service to others.
this is just my observation as i live on Kauai and listen to her. I have had many wonderful teachers, some you would have called beach bums, yet everyone carrys the messages you need...if you are reseptive, patient and conscience.
also please don not act like making $$ is evil. God created it also. and we are not to judge another intention. you recieve your gifts the dig out to your next adventure.
May anyone who read my simple opinion be bless with all that they desire and need.
