Mahalo nui loa Marie! Same feelings and informations I got from Moana Beamer and read from Mrs. Trask. It was really refreshing. All societies around the wolrd do have sacred things, hidden to public, open only to those who are somehow initiated. Heiaus as sacred places are for thoses who have been prepared and invited inthe correct order to take part in it. Not open to for people to peep in for commercial use. That was even the same with Jesus in Jerusalem. - Do you have a email for direct contact? Search at the source is always the best. The Navigators of old lookded to that source, (Aumakua,Lono etc.) and to arcturus, to the giding star.
When I asekd and discussed it with real native hawaiians - kama'aina, we agreed that those researchers like Max F. Long and Serge K. King have had NO chance to see it the native way, as they, as every man always looks through his knowledge. At least Serge K. King told in his preachings in Europe that he is NOT telling pure hawaiian traditions, but has mixed it with AFRICAN and his own understanding, so it is HIS philosphy of what HE believes is good to believe. Finally he opens his own registered church, which is not hawaiian. A lot of believers of leaders often put more into the teachings of their "Kumus" as those evers said, and it may be so, that especially german do things 150% over correct, and preach more as origfinally said. We call this here "Gurutum", try to translate into guru-ism, blind followers of a god or idol like personage.
A question to you - as I think a kama'aina, do you gather for sharing you wisdom with others? And do you belive that it is illegal to share your pure wisdom (exept of cause the sacred secrets)with white ones? Do you believe that James Cook as arriving at Makahiki was mistakenly honored as the returning WHITE god LONO, who has visited Hawaii centuries before and had promised to return?
Would love to exchange spirtual thoughts with you, if you do not like to do that in public, I shared my email, so you may contact me directly.
