"Ok I'm curious by what criterion do any of the healers here decide that someone is possessed and by what?
Martyn:
Once I used the word "exorcism" too - yet not any more. In each case of "possession" that I have investigated in the last 4-5 years, the "possessing agent" seemed to symbolise a difficult relationship, in which the ongoing influence of another person was internally represented as some animalistic or geometric shape, usually black or grey.
If the other person in the relationship is dead, particularly if there is a sense of guilt or participation (maybe "contribution" is better) in the other person's death, (for example, an abortion or suicide within the family), then the symbolic "entity" can be horrific.

Martyn:
I found that traditional Celtic and Hawaiian "excorcism" methods often brought a client immediate and overwhelming relief - for the short term - a few days to three months or so.
In the longer term - a client's "sense of life" and "sense of relationships" seemed diminished.
So I started investigating the EXACT moment of onset of the "possessions", which lead to another type of understanding, that I have tried to outline here.
I find that ho'oponopono, as taught by Aunty Margaret of Kealakekua and Papa Henry of Hilo, has provided the most wonderful techniques for dealing with these relationship phenomena.
I hope this answers your questions.
