Aloha Ed,

You know, you really led off a very interesting argument.

David Willey also told me that my defination of religion (me being an ordained minister, but he didn't know that) was very different from his.

This is for sure!!!

His defination is that there is nothing supernatural, therefore nothing which occurs can have any religious overtones.

Whereas I know that there is religious overtones to some things.

His telling me about standing in the fire and reaching down and playing weith it is in line with this.

His unwavering thesis is that Firewalking is only possible because of the lack of significant time spent on glowing embers (he denies that there is an Umu style of Firewalk, and he denies than anyone ever walked on a recent lavaflow. As the founder of Huna did.)

But his own experience proves his asserted thesis simply wrong.

He didn't assert any other "scientific" explaination. He just laughed about it and said I was giving him too much credit.

Since he CAN NOT accept evidence contrary to his thesis, even when it comes from his own experience, I think he's insane and very unscientific. He uses science as an excuse not to examine reality.

Makes me wonder why he continues to Firewalk?

Except for this unfortunate part of his personality, he seems like a really nice guy.

A Hui Hou,

Lani
