Aloha Ed,

Mahalo for dirercting me to David Willey's website.

Very interesting.

It implies that he actually walked on fire during one of my teacher's Firewalks. But, of course he didn't. He was just permitted to measure the tempretures of the World's Hottest Firewalk.

He used to hang around my teacher's Firewalks, and learn the proper attitude, but was always afraid to do it himself.

He has a fine photo of my teacher on his website, but no indication of why it is there. Certainly my teacher is not in agreement with David Willey's thesis.

My teacher, Michael McDermott, approaches the Firewalk in a semi-religious manner. He has never actually seen David walk on fire. But he has one of David's video tapes.

David Willey told me he wouldn't talk to me unless I paid him. And his video goes for twice what Firewalkers charge for their videos.

There's a lot more, but you get the drift. Except to say this:

In the Huna religion, Fireimmunity is believed to be conveyed by the goddess Wahinenuiho`alani. She isn't prejudiced against scientists, and will respond to the slightest touch.

It is my impression that David Willey is really a good person, good personality, and a fully trained Priest of the fire. It is my impression that David Willey uses the knowledge obtained by going through the Firewalk seminar led by my teacher, and others, to effect his Firewalks. But that, for reasons known perhaps only to himself, he choses to ignore the religious practices which he uses and which make the Firewalk possible.

He may be asked in the near future to change many of the details on his website which are misleading.

Aloha,

Lani
