Why, yes Kahuna Lani, I certainly have to agree with you there.

But then, that's the big difference between the "western" religions and the tribal pagan religions, isn't it?

The western religions are about personal growth. Whereas the tribal religions are about the growth of a whole people.

In the pagan sense of the word "Kahuna" woould really mean a caretaker, instead of a western style Minister. Yet the real translation of "Kahuna" is Minister.

In any case, the inition of another Kahuna I Ke Umu Ki, is a COMMUNITY event. Like healing and exorcisms, the ability to do the Firewalk ISN'T for one'self, but for the good of all the community.

It is cause for celebration of the People. It is for that reason that my Huna Church (the Huna Heiau) is paying all the expenses for the initiation, and they control when I will put on the Firewalks afterwords.

I can chose to lead it, but who is compelled to follow? No one. Who choses voluntarily to follow? The People, if the new kumu is worth his salt at all.

BTW: I've noticed that a major number of the posts here are mine.

I am posting the correct number of times. Are you? Come on now! Certainly you have a POV too!

Your pal,

Lani
