Lani,
To be honest I am new to the research of both Lua and Huna so I can not be sure if we are speaking of the same Charlie Kenn. From what I understand Charlie Kenn was only part Hawaiian and he was considered a Hawaiian scholar. Being a scholar, I would assume that he had knowledge of all aspects of Hawaiian culture and heritage. Making it probable that it was the same gentleman. Here are the names of the four gentleman that O'lohe Charlie Kenn passed on the art of Lua to - Richard Paglinawan, Mitchell Eli, Moses Kalauokalani, and Jerry Walker. As far as I know all of the gentlemen are still in Hawaii. I briefly spoke with Richard Paglinawan a while back over the phone about Lua but I did not ask about O'lohe Charlie Kenn. His number is in the book and I am sure that he could answer your questions regarding Charlie Kenn.
I hope I did not offend you or anyone here as I am new to these subjects and wasn't trying to imply that Lua and Huna were related in any way. I was just curious to know if there may have been a connection. You have assured me that there was no connection between the two and I appreciate your responses greatly.
Thank you,
Steve
