"O'lohe Charles Kenn
passed on the authentic Lua techniques to four disciples who are still teaching the art in Hawaii."
There was from the beginning of the second generation of Huna, in the HRA a Kahuna Charlie Kenn. He was a Firewalker, and my Kumu, Max Freedom Long, published his book, "Firewalking from the Inside".
Kahuna Charlie helped me in the pronouncation of Hawaiian words in a Chant he gave us. This kokua occured in 1980.
But even if this is the same Kahuna Charlie, Huna has no Martial Art component. If anything it is related closer to Aikido in its thinking and philosophy.
Your references were interesting, I hadn't heard of those things before.
If he is known by you to be the same Kahuna, then let me know. We know what we know about him, but nothing really of his life outside of Huna. In the conversation I had with him in 1980, Lua didn't come up.
Aloha,
Lani
PS: For those of you who may be Hawaiian challenged, "O'lohe" simply means a person skilled in the Lua (a type of native hand to hand fighting technique).
